- Add your domain and wait until it shows as Active. WordPress can only be installed on an active account.
- Open Website Settings, choose your domain and click Install WordPress.
- Fill in the form: site title, admin username, a password of at least 8 characters and an admin email. Change the username from

What comes with it
| Part | What you get |
|---|---|
| Editing | Edit pages, text and images in the browser, with no code |
| Database | WordPress creates its own MySQL database. Your plan includes a set number of databases, and you can manage them in phpMyAdmin |
| HTTPS | Free SSL certificate, added automatically once your domain points to us |
| Backups | Automatic: weekly on Starter, daily on Pro and Business. Download or restore from the dashboard |
| Mailboxes on your own domain, created from the dashboard |
One thing to know first
WordPress takes over your domain's address and replaces the page that was there before. If you have already uploaded a site you want to keep, do not install WordPress on the same domain. Use a subdomain or open a support ticket and we will help.
Choosing a plan for WordPress
Each plan lists how many websites, how much storage and how many MySQL databases it includes. One WordPress site uses one database, so a plan with more databases and websites gives you room for more sites. Pro and Business also give you daily backups and on-demand backups at no charge, which is useful before you update themes or plugins. See the plans page for current limits.
Keeping your WordPress site safe
- Change the admin username from
adminto something less obvious. - Use a long password and keep it in a password manager.
- Use an admin email you check, because WordPress sends password resets there.
- Turn on the HTTPS redirect so visitors always use the secure address.
- Know where your backups are. See how backups work.
