Node.js hosting for small apps
You can run a Node.js app on ABCTeck Hosting from your dashboard, without a command line. Turn on Node.js for your domain, upload your app in the File manager and run npm install from the npm Terminal tab. Plans start at $5.00 a month with no long-term contract.

Run your app in three steps
- Turn on Node.js. Open Website Settings, find the Node.js section for your domain and click Enable Node.js. After a few seconds the status shows RUNNING.
- Upload your app in the File manager. By default the entry point is
app.js, and the application root is the main folder, wherepackage.jsonshould be. - Install packages. Open the npm Terminal tab and click npm install. The same tab can run other scripts from your package.json, such as build or start.

What to expect
We have tested a plain Node.js app. If your project needs a build step or extra setup, open a support ticket and we will help. With Node.js on, your app answers the requests for the domain, so a plain index.html in the same folder is not shown.
If you only have static files, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, you do not need Node.js. See hosting for websites built with AI.
Static site or Node.js app?
A static site is a set of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and image files. You upload them and they are served as they are, so you do not need Node.js. A Node.js app runs code on the server, usually with a package.json and a start file such as app.js. If you are unsure which you have, look for a package.json and a file that starts a server.
If your app does not start
- Open Website Settings and check that the Node.js status shows RUNNING. Use Restart on the Overview tab if it does not.
- Check that
package.jsonis in the application root and that the entry point matches your start file. - Run npm install again from the npm Terminal tab and read the last line of the output.
- Make sure the app listens on
process.env.PORT, as in the example in the guide. - Still stuck? Open a support ticket and include what the npm Terminal tab shows.
